Safety and Avoiding Scams

Rules to follow:

  • Setup meetings in public areas with surveillance when possible.
  • Do not send money through wire services such as moneygram or western union.
  • Avoid 'To Good To Be True' advertisements.
  • Take a friend or let someone know about your meeting
  • Make all transactions with cash when possible.
  • Never except  cashier checks or money orders of any kind when possible.
  • Never provide sensitive information such as social security number, credit card number…etc.
  • Verify proof of ownership when in doubt.
  • Always deal locally and in-person. It is intent of YardCellar that all ads come from the local area but it should be understood that this may be beyond our control.
  • Do not respond to ads requesting sensitive information.
  • Take a cell phone with you to any and all meetings.

 

Complaints

The idea here is safety and  avoiding being a fraud victim. Use common sense and your instincts when replying to ads to protect yourself. YardCellar will work in full corporation with any and all authorities in the event that any criminal or investigative circumstances arise.  If you feel that you are a victim of fraud or suspect mischievous behavior please contact admin@yardcellar.com as well as any of the authorities listed below that are relevant.
